Hazards of Stilettos

Her stunning entrance…

The hazards of stilettos

She wobbles and sways…

My protagonist is wearing stilettos to the gala. For the first time since she was sixteen years old, she has taken the advice of her vintage couture-loving older sister — and already regrets it.

The party is for her. She won the ultimate recognition for accomplishment in her business community — after years of yearning, striving, and sacrifice. The awards ceremony is business formal and she decided to go all out, hence the vintage dress, the awkward footwear.

Beautiful in 1950s silk, rhinestones, and understated stilettos, she stands at the entrance to the ballroom. All eyes on her, she enters wobbling proud.
