To the Beach!

Boy clutches toy duck

Man and child hurtle

To sand castle moat

Yesterday morning was brilliant sun, fresh breeze, proud puffy clouds against azure blue sky. The man and his toddler flew down the road on a bike with the child’s seat set just behind the handlebars, for clear view and protective hold.

Helmeted and intense, they chuckled about going to the beach and what they were going to build in the sand. The child clasped a small rubber duck in his hands, the hero of the castle.

There was nothing but them in their world, nothing but men going to build and play in the sand. All imagined priorities fell away in bright sun and happy anticipation.
